A San Antonio man is facing a felony charge after Bexar County Sheriff’s Office investigators say he came forward about an alleged incident with a sleeping 6‑year‑old girl that has been weighing on him for months.
According to police records, the incident is alleged to have taken place on or about Dec. 10, 2025. The suspect is identified as 29‑year‑old Felipe Paul Hernandez. Investigators say Hernandez told them he later reported what happened because it weighed on his conscience.
As reported by News4SanAntonio, Hernandez has been charged with indecency with a child, which that outlet notes is a third‑degree felony under Texas law. The station cites an investigator's affidavit that describes the alleged incident and the child's condition at the time. The report also says Hernandez told investigators he had been attending weekly counseling sessions and had sought help for anxiety and panic attacks.
What the charge means
Under Texas law, “indecency with a child” can cover two types of conduct: sexual contact and exposure. An exposure offense is treated as a third‑degree felony, while sexual contact is classified as a second‑degree felony, according to Texas Penal Code Section 21.11.
For a third‑degree felony in Texas, punishment typically ranges from two to ten years in state prison, along with possible fines of up to $10,000, as outlined in Section 12.34 of the penal code.
Investigators' account and counseling
According to the investigator's affidavit quoted by News4SanAntonio, Hernandez said he decided to report the alleged incident because it weighed on his conscience. The affidavit states he told investigators he understood his actions were wrong and criminal.
The affidavit also notes that Hernandez reported attending weekly counseling sessions and seeking treatment for anxiety and panic attacks, according to the station’s coverage.
What's next
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office investigation resulted in the current charge, and it will now be up to prosecutors to decide whether to move forward with formal charging documents in Bexar County court.
We reviewed the Bexar County District Attorney’s public press page and available court listings but did not find a separate DA press release or docket entry about the case as of Wednesday. At this point, News4SanAntonio remains the primary public account of the allegations.
