A routine night run to a neighborhood liquor store turned into a crisis scene in north Phoenix on Tuesday, after a man who had been shot in the chest walked inside and asked for help. Store employees quickly called for emergency crews, and Phoenix police say the victim is now hospitalized in critical condition and that an investigation is underway.
Police Were Alerted After The Man Walked Into AZ Liquor
Officers were called around 9:30 p.m. after workers at AZ Liquor near 32nd Street and Bell Road reported that a man had come in saying he had been shot, according to Arizona's Family. The man had gunshot wounds to his chest and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, the outlet reports.
Police say the victim told officers he did not know who shot him and was unable to offer more details as detectives began canvassing the surrounding area for clues and possible witnesses.
Violence Along 32nd And Bell Road
The busy stretch around 32nd Street and Bell Road has seen other serious incidents this year, including an officer-involved shooting in March that left a man dead, according to ABC15.
