An unidentified man who had been missing for several days was found dead Friday evening on San Antonio's South Side, according to police. Officers were called to the 16000 block of Laredo Road shortly after 8:45 p.m., where they discovered the man near a residence.
What police found
Responding officers found the unidentified male deceased outside a home, according to KSAT. During interviews with people inside the residence, investigators noted there was no foul smell in the home, and a person of interest reportedly fled the scene before officers could speak with them.
"No arrests have been made," the preliminary SAPD report stated, per KSAT. Detectives are processing the scene and working to identify the man as the investigation remains ongoing.
Citywide context
The case comes amid other recent unattended-death investigations in San Antonio. Earlier this week, a man was found along railroad tracks near the Frost Bank Center and may have been there for up to a week. That incident was reported by Mystery Corpse by Frost Bank Center, which noted the Bexar County Medical Examiner would handle identification and cause-of-death testing in that case.
