
Two young men were rushed to the hospital after shots rang out on a Sunset Park block just after 7 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The shooting unfolded in front of 467 45th St., where a 19-year-old man was hit in the left arm and a 20-year-old man was shot in the back. Both were taken to NYU Langone-Brooklyn and are expected to survive, according to police.
Officers have opened an investigation and are searching for a suspect, according to News 12. Police told the outlet they canvassed the block for surveillance video and witnesses while detectives worked the scene.

The incident falls within the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, which covers Sunset Park. Investigators are asking anyone with tips or footage from around the time of the shooting to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip through the online Crime Stoppers portal.
Neighborhood context
The shooting comes on the heels of other recent violence in the neighborhood, including a pre-dawn stabbing on May 28 that left two men badly hurt. Residents and nearby shop owners say the string of incidents has neighbors on edge as police step up patrols in the area.
