Trillium Brewing Company has planted a new outdoor beer garden at Winthrop Center Park in downtown Boston, turning a pocket of green in the Financial District into an after-work stop for pints and pizza. The seasonal pop-up is already serving beer and pies to office workers and visitors, widening Trillium’s downtown footprint as the city gears up for a packed summer calendar.
The Connector and Trillium launched the seasonal setup at Winthrop Center, 250 Devonshire Street, with the beer garden operating Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through October, according to Boston 25 News. Organizers say John Fraser Restaurants will run the space, and that The Connector also houses The Lineup food hall inside the Winthrop Center development.
What's on Tap and Food
Trillium’s taps are pouring flagship IPAs, seasonal releases, small-batch brews and rare cellar ales, as laid out on the brewery’s Trillium Brewing Company site. Neapolitan-style pizzas from Gatto Pazzo, a vendor based inside The Lineup food hall at Winthrop Center, will be available as a pairing, according to The Connector. The team is aiming for a relaxed but polished outdoor vibe managed by John Fraser Restaurants.
Programming and Events
Organizers say the beer garden will host guided beer and spirits tastings, live music from local artists, trivia nights and themed activations tied to Boston’s summer events schedule, per a press release summarized by NBC Boston. The Tuesday-through-Thursday afternoon timing is set up to catch downtown workers as they head out for early-evening drinks.
Where This Fits In Boston's Summer Scene
The Winthrop Center pop-up follows the end of Trillium’s long-running beer garden on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, which is not returning this year after a competitive request-for-proposal process, as reported by Boston.com. Trillium has also added a separate waterfront beer garden at the Boston Harbor Hotel, which opened in late May and offers harbor views and expanded weekend hours, according to Boston.com.
Winthrop Center’s programming team says the goal is to further establish the development as a year-round destination, with listings and updates posted on The Connector. For Trillium’s full rundown of locations, events and beer releases, head to Trillium Brewing Company.
