
A two-alarm commercial fire lit up a stretch of SE McLoughlin Boulevard on Monday afternoon, sending Clackamas Fire crews scrambling and pushing workers and clients out of nearby businesses. The staffing agency PeopleReady and recovery services provider Recovery Works NW were both displaced by smoke and fire. Officials reported no injuries, and a fire investigator remained on scene to figure out what started the blaze.
Businesses forced to evacuate
The fire hit a small commercial strip near the 16000 block, forcing staff at PeopleReady to clear out and temporarily shut down their Oak Grove branch. The company lists its Oak Grove office at 16071 Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard, according to PeopleReady.
Recovery Works NW reported heavy smoke
In an update with photos, Clackamas Fire said Recovery Works NW's workspace was found filled with heavy smoke, and staff and clients were evacuated. A fire investigator remained on scene to look into the cause. Recovery Works NW is listed at nearby 16083 SE McLoughlin Boulevard in the Oregon Health Authority's 2025–29 Behavioral Health Resource Networks directory, per the Oregon Health Authority. The directory notes the organization provides substance-use and peer support services in Clackamas County.
