
A 20-year-old man was hospitalized after a shooting on Detroit’s west side yesterday, when officers responded to the 8000 block of Northlawn Street. The victim was taken to a hospital and is listed in stable condition, according to police.
As reported by ClickOnDetroit, the shooting was called in yesterday, and authorities confirmed the victim’s age as 20. Two suspects were taken into custody, and officers recovered weapons at the scene while processing the area.
West-side surge
The latest incident lands on a growing list of recent gun violence cases on Detroit’s west side. Earlier this month, a double shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized was reported by WXYZ. According to Hoodline, a juvenile was wounded on Winthrop Street in May, adding to the troubling trend.
Investigation
Detroit police have not released additional identifying details about the suspects or a possible motive, and detectives say the investigation remains active. As ClickOnDetroit notes, officers recovered weapons during their response and continue to collect evidence at the scene.
