
An early morning shooting at the Rockwood Village Apartments in Gresham left a 25-year-old man dead on Monday, according to police. Officers were called to the complex just before 4 a.m., found the victim inside the property, and the case has since been treated as a homicide. The East County Major Crimes Team is leading the probe while detectives canvas the neighborhood for evidence and witnesses.
Victim Identified At Rockwood Complex
As reported by KPTV, police identified the victim as 25-year-old D'Angelo Adams and confirmed the scene at 783 Southeast 185th Avenue in the Rockwood area. According to the station, officers were dispatched to the complex shortly before 4 a.m., where they found an unresponsive man who was later pronounced dead. The East County Major Crimes Team is overseeing the investigation.
Police Confirm Homicide Ruling
In a Facebook post, the Gresham Police Department said detectives have ruled the death a homicide and asked anyone with video or tips to come forward. The department noted that investigators will release more details as they are able and urged residents to share any footage that could assist the case.
Rockwood's Recent Shooting Incidents
The Rockwood neighborhood has faced recurring gun violence in recent years. In April 2024, a prior shooting at the same Rockwood Village complex left one person injured, underscoring ongoing safety concerns in the community.
