A 43-year-old man died after being found with a gunshot wound to the chest early Wednesday in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood. Police have not announced an arrest, and the circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear.
Police Say Man Was Found With Chest Wound
The shooting happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 11600 block of South Halsted Street, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Officers found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest, and he was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead, police said.
Wednesday’s fatal shooting comes less than three weeks after two men were shot while sitting in an SUV in West Pullman, according to CBS Chicago. That July 9 shooting happened in the 11600 block of South Ada Street, where both victims were critically injured; an earlier West Pullman shooting report said no arrests had been announced in that case. There is no indication the two incidents are connected.
