Atlanta police are still hunting for the person accused of shooting a 65-year-old man at a southeast Atlanta gas station last fall. The case, which began with an apparent exchange of gunfire, remains unresolved nearly nine months later.
The latest report from Atlanta News First says investigators are seeking a suspect in the 2025 shooting on McDonough Boulevard SE. No suspect has been publicly identified in the reports reviewed.
What Happened At The McDonough Gas Station
According to an earlier Atlanta News First report, officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. on October 25, 2025, to a report of a person shot near 746 Thomasville Boulevard SE. They found a 65-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Investigators determined the man had been sitting in a vehicle at the gas station at 840 McDonough Boulevard SE when an unknown armed person approached him, police said. Gunfire was exchanged, but authorities have not publicly explained what led to the confrontation or whether the victim and shooter knew each other.
Investigation Remains Open
Earlier Hoodline coverage reported that Atlanta police assigned the case to the Aggravated Assault Unit and urged witnesses to come forward. The latest police search indicates detectives are still working to identify the person responsible.
