The burst of shots briefly shut down the corner of Young Avenue and East Parkway South while multiple police vans crowded the intersection.

Crews from FOX13 Memphis arrived to find the Pride Mart lot wrapped in crime-scene tape, with investigators working around roughly 30 to 40 shell casings and evidence markers. According to the station, Memphis police had not yet released details on possible suspects or any injuries, despite requests for more information.
Neighborhood context
Cooper-Young has already been on edge this year. In May, a shooting inside OUTMemphis left two people wounded and sparked a wave of concern among residents and LGBTQ advocates, according to Action News 5. That incident, along with several others reported around Midtown, has fueled louder calls for stepped-up patrols and safety outreach near late-night businesses.
Investigation ongoing
Detectives spent the morning combing through the Pride Mart parking lot, documenting evidence and working the scene, but there were no confirmed arrests or suspect descriptions in the early stages of the investigation. As FOX13 Memphis reported, the station requested comment from Memphis police and did not immediately receive a response. Officers continued canvassing the surrounding area as the investigation remained active.
