Gilbert is getting another coffee stop, and this one may come with an espresso martini on the side. The Buzzed Goat Coffee Company is preparing its third Arizona location at SanTan Village Marketplace, with the locally founded brand targeting a September opening.
The company is taking over the former Which Wich space, where preparations are already underway. CEO Gabe Von Weimer told What Now Phoenix that the team received the keys last week, though an exact opening date has not been announced.
The Gilbert cafe will join The Buzzed Goat’s original Ahwatukee shop and its Tempe outpost. Founded in 2018, the company describes itself as a neighborhood coffee bar and tap house serving handcrafted coffee, cold brew, specialty lattes, local beer and coffee cocktails, according to its official website.
Expect More Than A Morning Latte
The new location is expected to feature a full espresso bar alongside signature espresso martinis, craft cocktails, beer, wine and small bites. As reported by What Now Phoenix, the menu is also expected to include familiar favorites such as The Goat cold brew with caramel and cream, the Cafe Mojito and the Honey Bee latte.
Seasonal drinks are also planned, giving the Gilbert shop a menu that can shift beyond the standard iced coffee routine. The combination of coffee, cocktails and daytime food puts the planned cafe in the increasingly popular coffee-bar lane rather than the strictly grab-and-go category.
This is not The Buzzed Goat’s first expansion from a small local concept into a full storefront. Hoodline previously covered the brand’s 2018 Ahwatukee debut, when it moved beyond its coffee-truck roots and opened its first brick-and-mortar cafe.
For now, September is a target rather than a firm grand-opening date. If construction stays on track, Gilbert customers could soon have a new place to grab a cold brew in the morning and something considerably stronger later in the day.
