Police say a local man was arrested Wednesday after he reached through a bedroom window and grabbed a sleeping woman’s ankle. The woman managed to kick herself free, sprinted out of the room and called authorities. Officers later tracked the suspect to his home, where he was arrested, and he now faces criminal charges tied to the incident.
According to NBC Boston, police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Helohim Nedvaldo Francilme of Canton and charged him with breaking and entering and assault and battery. Investigators told the outlet that Francilme had messaged the woman on social media about an hour before the reported 2:10 a.m. encounter, and that someone opened the window, called the woman’s name and grabbed her ankle. She kicked at the person and ran from the bedroom. Francilme was arrested at his residence after allegedly fleeing the scene, the station reported.
Previous encounters with police
Public records show this is not Francilme’s first time on law enforcement’s radar. According to the Stoughton Police Department, he was arrested in 2025 after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing, a case that led to an arraignment in Stoughton District Court. Court orders competency exam
Court records show a judge has ordered Francilme to undergo an examination to determine his competence to stand trial, according to NBC Boston.
