An 18-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after deputies say he stepped out of his vehicle and fired a rifle multiple times on northbound Interstate 71 near the Red Bank Road exit in Cincinnati. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the shots were reported at about 5 a.m., and deputies arrested the suspect at the scene. No injuries have been reported.
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Aaron Phelan, and local officials confirmed his arrest at the scene, according to Local 12. Responders reportedly found a rifle and spent casings on the highway, the outlet reported.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that there was no sign the shots were aimed at anyone in particular.
"No injuries have been reported, and there is no indication that individuals or vehicles were specifically targeted," the release read, per Local 12. The statement added that it was not yet known whether Mr. Phelan was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Highway shootings raise concerns
The arrest comes as I-71 has already seen other serious trouble this year.
