An early-morning shooting on a Clairton residential block turned deadly Monday, leaving a woman dead and a man in the hospital, according to law enforcement. Officers were called to the 500 block of Washington Avenue around 1:30 a.m., where first responders found two people with gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced the female victim dead at the scene, and the male victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Allegheny County homicide unit is now handling the case.
According to WTAE, county police said the victims were discovered on Washington Avenue, and investigators are still working to piece together what led up to the shooting.
