A Dalton man is being held without bond after Whitfield County’s Special Victims Unit served an arrest warrant tied to a sexual-exploitation-of-children investigation. Chase Hunter Hindman was arrested in Dalton on Thursday and taken to the Whitfield County Jail, where officials say he remains in custody.
The charge against Hindman was announced after investigators served the warrant, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Authorities have not released details about the evidence behind the warrant or said whether additional charges could follow.
Whitfield County Sheriff Darren J. Pierce described the arrest as part of the agency’s continuing focus on cases involving children. “We aren’t slowing down. If you prey on children in Whitfield County, we will be coming,” Pierce said in a statement reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Georgia’s sexual-exploitation statute generally prohibits knowingly producing, distributing or possessing visual material depicting a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The law classifies most violations as felonies carrying five to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $100,000, although the statute includes limited exceptions, according to the Georgia Code.
The arrest comes less than two weeks after Whitfield County deputies arrested Chatsworth resident Shawn Ridner following an undercover operation involving a person he allegedly believed was 14 years old. Ridner also faced a sexual-exploitation-of-children charge, but authorities have not announced any connection between that case and Hindman’s arrest, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
For now, the public details remain limited to the arrest, the charge and Hindman’s custody status. The allegations have not been tested in court, and any further information will likely come through additional statements, court filings or the ongoing Special Victims Unit investigation.
