A man was killed Thursday morning after a shooting on the 2400 block of Flat Shoals Road in Decatur, according to DeKalb County police. Emergency crews and detectives focused their response around an apartment building off the roadway as investigators worked the scene.

FOX 5 crews at the scene filmed responders gathering evidence around the complex. Authorities have not released the victim’s name and have not provided any description of possible suspects.
Flat Shoals corridor has seen repeated violence
The stretch of Flat Shoals Road and Parkway has already been the backdrop for several shootings this year, including a June 17 case that left a pregnant woman dead, as reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Hoodline has tracked a series of late-night gas-station and apartment incidents along the same corridor and noted residents calling for better lighting and more patrols. What police are asking the public
DeKalb County police told FOX 5 Atlanta they have made no arrests and have released few details about a possible motive. Local reporting notes that anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip through the Tip411 system by texting "DKPD" to 847411, or by contacting DeKalb police through nonemergency lines, according to Atlanta News First.
