A deadly shooting on an east Charlotte street Tuesday has left one person dead and kicked off a full-scale homicide investigation, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and emergency officials.
MEDIC crews were called to the 1400 block of Eastcrest Drive, just off Briar Creek Road, where they pronounced a victim dead at the scene. The person’s name has not yet been released, and police have not announced any suspects or arrests.
As reported by Queen City News, MEDIC officials were first on scene and confirmed the fatality, with details updated as investigators continued to process the area. The initial report did not indicate any additional injuries.
