A routine Thursday drive turned fatal for a 55-year-old Lowell woman when her car was struck while she was turning onto Highway 58 near Dexter Reservoir, authorities said. Troopers were called out just before 11:40 a.m. to the crash near milepost 12, where the driver, identified as Sarah Rachel Pratt of Lowell, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Register-Guard, Pratt was pulling onto Highway 58 in a green Honda Camry from a gravel road when a Ford F-250 slammed into the driver-side door. The impact was severe enough that Pratt died at the scene, and investigators shut down the area while they documented every angle of the wreck.
