A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in East Memphis, leaving one person dead at the scene and another in police custody as investigators work to piece together what happened.
Memphis police said officers were called to the 4100 block of Barron Avenue, where they found a man who was pronounced dead on the scene. A second person was detained as detectives launched an active homicide investigation.
According to WREG, the Memphis Police Department processed the area Wednesday night and detained one individual while gathering evidence. The outlet’s coverage included photographs from the scene credited to Brooke Billions. Authorities have not released the victim’s name or announced any charges.
