
Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, a quiet stretch of Easy Street in Franklin was jolted by gunfire that tore into a house and a nearby vehicle. Deputies who rushed to the scene found multiple rounds had been fired, but no one was reported hurt.
According to KLFY, St. Mary Parish dispatchers received a report of shots fired at about 12:55 a.m. Deputies later confirmed that bullets struck a residence and a vehicle, but there were no reported injuries at the scene, the station said.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said detectives have taken over the case and are leading the ongoing investigation. Investigators have not released any details about possible suspects or a motive.
