Federal agents showed up outside an Ardmore art gallery Wednesday, carrying out a court-authorized operation that left the purpose of the activity under wraps. The FBI has confirmed the operation, but has not said what agents were seeking, whether anyone was detained, or whether the gallery is accused of wrongdoing.
According to 6abc Philadelphia, the station's Action Cam recorded FBI agents working outside Dane Fine Art in the 2300 block of Haverford Road. The bureau told the station it was conducting “court authorized law enforcement activity” there, but declined to provide more information.
No Charges Or Explanation Released
Nothing in the public details released Wednesday identifies a suspect, a search target, or any alleged offense. The FBI's appearance alone should not be read as evidence that Dane Fine Art or its employees have been accused of a crime.
The gallery's own website describes Dane Fine Art as a fine-art dealer and auction house with an Ardmore showroom. Its listed inventory includes original and limited-edition works associated with artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Pablo Picasso, Renoir and Miro.
