A fire at Framingham’s Dudley Road brush dump was still burning Wednesday morning, with crews facing a blaze stubborn enough to keep the emergency response going into a second day. Smoke warnings went out for nearby streets as officials urged people to steer clear of the area if possible.
The fire broke out Tuesday on Dudley Road and prompted a large response, according to Boston 25 News. Firefighters remained on scene Wednesday morning, though an end time for the operation had not been announced.
This is the city’s seasonal yard-waste drop-off, not a regular household-trash transfer station. The City of Framingham says permitted residents use the Dudley Road facility for brush, leaves, grass and other plant material during the 2026 season.
Smoke Warning Covers Mt. Wayte Avenue Area
Framingham fire and police officials warned residents to expect heavy smoke around Mt. Wayte Avenue and Franklin Street, Boston 25 News reported. The public was also asked to avoid the brush dump area if possible while crews continued working.
