What started as a Tuesday afternoon search warrant on North Pine Hill Road turned into a major drug bust, with Spalding County deputies hauling out stacks of cash, pounds of drugs and a handgun from a Griffin home.
Agents with the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office say they hit the house at 480 N. Pine Hill Road around 2:30 p.m. on July 21 and recovered more than a dozen pounds of marijuana, nearly a pound of cocaine, suspected stimulants, a firearm and $21,328 in cash. A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and now faces a slate of felony trafficking and weapons charges.
Special Operations agents reported finding roughly 13 pounds of marijuana, about 11 ounces of cocaine and approximately 1.75 pounds of suspected MDMA or methamphetamine, along with the cash and a handgun, according to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say all of it was pulled from inside the home during the search.
In a statement, the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 41-year-old Shenard Ellis. He faces multiple felony counts, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana and MDMA or methamphetamine, trafficking charges and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The agency did not immediately release information about bond or any upcoming court dates.

Special Operations led the raid, with backup from the Criminal Investigations Division and the Fugitive Apprehension Division, FOX 5 Atlanta reports. Investigators photographed and cataloged the drugs, cash and weapon on site before sending the evidence to the lab for testing.
