What started as a Friday evening pool party in Palmdale ended with guests diving for cover, as a gunman opened fire and wounded three people, authorities said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies rushed to the 2200 block of East Old Harold Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. after reports of shots fired. Investigators say a man arrived at the gathering and began shooting into the crowd. Three guests, two juveniles and one adult, were hit and taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
What authorities say
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, deputies at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station said the attack may have been random, and the suspect remained at large as detectives canvassed the neighborhood Friday night.
Deputies confirmed the victims were two juveniles and one adult, all transported to local hospitals. The department has not released a suspect description and said the investigation is ongoing, leaving residents in the area unsettled as they wait for answers.
Violence in the Antelope Valley
The shooting is the latest in a string of serious incidents in Palmdale and the wider Antelope Valley. In March, a young man was killed near the Palmdale International Mall, a case detailed in 23-year-old shot dead near Palmdale mall. The region has also seen major prosecutions, including a 2025 triple murder case in Lake Los Angeles, according to the County of Los Angeles.
In the wake of these cases, local officials have urged residents to share tips and cooperate with investigators as they try to rein in gun violence across the Antelope Valley.
