Haltom City now has a new Korean barbecue destination where the grill work is handled tableside. Wooga KBBQ has opened at the H Mart Plaza, pairing sizzling meats with familiar Korean comfort food before the shopping center’s much-anticipated anchor store arrives.
Officially called Wooga - Korean Steakhouse by Chodang Village, the restaurant is a spinoff of the Texas-based Chodang Village chain, according to CultureMap Fort Worth. Unlike self-serve Korean barbecue spots, Wooga’s staff cooks the meat for diners, meaning guests can focus on eating instead of negotiating over the tongs.
The menu also reaches well beyond barbecue. The Chodang Village family of restaurants lists locations in Carrollton, Plano, and Austin, with a menu built around Korean staples such as soft tofu soup, seafood pancakes, galbi, and other shared dishes, according to Chodang Village.
Wooga Brings Chodang Favorites To The Grill
At the Haltom City restaurant, diners can order Chodang dishes including sundubujjigae, the soft tofu stew that has become one of the group’s signature draws. Bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi, banchan, corn cheese, soybean stew, and souffléd egg round out the Korean menu alongside the tabletop barbecue.
Wooga’s arrival gives the plaza an early restaurant draw while the H Mart itself remains under construction. The grocery store is now forecast to open in fall 2026 after construction and supply-chain delays, with the larger development expected to include more than 50 restaurant and retail spaces, as detailed in the H Mart timeline.
The restaurant plans to add alcohol, but co-owner Charles Kang told CultureMap that Wooga has not yet obtained its license. For now, the main attraction is a Korean barbecue meal where the staff does the flipping and the table gets all the sizzle.
