Pipeline Malasadas, the Hawaiian bakery known for hot, sugar-dusted malasadas, is adding a second Las Vegas shop barely more than a year after opening its first. The new location is expected to open to the public in August, giving southwest and Silverado Ranch residents another place to chase that crisp-outside, fluffy-inside pastry.
The bakery is planning the new shop at 4485 W. Silverado Ranch Blvd., east of South Decatur Boulevard, where Clark County building records show multiple permits tied to the project. A report by Las Vegas Review-Journal says Pipeline has already held a soft-opening pop-up for friends and plans to welcome the general public in August.
Pipeline’s Fresh Malasadas Are Made To Order
Pipeline opened its inaugural Las Vegas bakery in May 2025 at 6945 S. Buffalo Drive. The shop fries its malasadas to order, then coats them in options including white sugar, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee and li hing mui sugar, according to the bakery’s official website.
Customers can also get the pastries filled with custard or chocolate, along with rotating seasonal flavors. The menu includes lilikoi iced tea and a Pipeline blend of Hawaiian coffee, giving the shop a little more island flavor than the average strip-mall doughnut run.
A Native Hawaiian Owner With A Surf-Inspired Name
Owner Gayla Young is a native Hawaiian, and Pipeline’s name is partly a nod to the famous Banzai Pipeline surf break on Oahu. The company says Young spent more than a year testing recipes before opening the original Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery in Hawaii, where the brand built its reputation around malasadas, cake bombs and other island-style sweets, as outlined by the bakery’s About Us page.
Malasadas themselves have a long Hawaii connection: The Portuguese fried pastries arrived with plantation laborers in the late 19th century and later became a staple of local bakeries. HAWAIʻI Magazine notes that the treat was popularized on Oahu in the 1950s and has since become one of the islands’ signature sweets.
Pipeline has not announced an exact opening day or final hours for the Silverado Ranch shop. For now, the Buffalo Drive location remains the bakery’s Las Vegas foothold, while the second storefront prepares to make the valley’s malasada supply a little less scarce.
