A Saturday ride on Highway 140 ended in tragedy when an Eagle Point man was killed after his motorcycle left the roadway and hit a guardrail near White City. The rider was identified as 54-year-old Brian Jay Moore, and Oregon State Police troopers pronounced him dead at the scene. The crash shut down traffic in the area for roughly three hours while crews worked the wreck and tried to untangle the resulting backup.
According to Oregon State Police, the motorcycle was traveling westbound near milepost 6 when it veered off the highway and struck the guardrail. Witnesses told troopers the bike appeared to be moving at high speed just before impact, and the motorcycle was described as a black Yamaha. Response and Road Closure
Oregon State Police troopers responded to the crash and were assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation. Emergency crews cleared wreckage while investigators documented the scene, and tow operators removed the motorcycle and scattered debris.
