A drive along U.S. Highway 87 in Becker County turned deadly Thursday night when a vehicle went beneath a semi-trailer, killing the driver at the scene.
The crash happened around 9:57 p.m. near milepost 15 on the north side of the highway. Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead shortly after arriving. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Crash details
According to Valley News Live, the victim was driving a 2019 Subaru Outback westbound on Highway 87 when the vehicle went underneath the trailer of a semi. The semi was facing eastbound and backing into a residential driveway at the time of the collision.
The outlet reports that the semi's driver, a 63-year-old man, was not hurt. The Subaru's driver, a 62-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
