Grove Pool opened late Tuesday following an unspecified vandalism incident, then was closed again after additional damage, according to KMBC. Kansas City Parks and Recreation has not disclosed exactly what was damaged or how many incidents have occurred, but said the repeated acts have created expensive repairs. Officials are asking visitors to report vandalism or suspicious activity to pool staff or police.
Grove Pool’s Reopening Date Is Unclear
KC Parks identifies Grove Pool as one of the city’s major outdoor pools and directs residents to its Rainout Line for operating updates. The facility’s regular schedule is listed as noon to 7 p.m., but those hours are currently superseded by the vandalism-related closure.

The document does not say that project was triggered by the latest vandalism, but its scope illustrates how quickly damage at a public pool can become a major bill.
The parks department warned that Grove Pool may be forced to remain closed for the rest of the summer if vandalism continues, KMBC reported. No arrests, citations or suspects have been announced in connection with the damage, and officials have not provided a repair completion date.
