Rock & Brews in Chesterfield has gone quiet after more than nine years, with the doors locked and the KISS-themed décor now headed for the auction block in July. The sudden closure leaves the Chesterfield Valley spot dark while plans to sell off its rock memorabilia move ahead.
According to the St. Louis Business Journal on June 30, 2026, the restaurant, which was the chain's only St. Louis-area location, has shut down after more than nine years and the memorabilia inside is slated for auction next month. The outlet reported that no auction house or buyer has been identified publicly and provided few additional details about the deal.
How the concept started
Rock & Brews began as a national KISS-themed dining concept co-founded by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons along with restaurant partners, according to Wikipedia. The chain leans into classic bar food and lengthy beer lists, all set against walls packed with music memorabilia and an atmosphere meant to feel like a live concert, minus the ringing ears.
Chesterfield's run
The Chesterfield location first opened in November 2016 and quickly became a Valley fixture. Local coverage at the time previewed the November 7 opening and billed it as a fresh nightlife option for western St. Louis County, according to earlier reporting from the St. Louis Business Journal.
Part of a wider pullback
The Chesterfield shutdown is not happening in a vacuum. The brand has seen a string of recent closures around the country, including its Lutz/Wesley Chapel, Florida, restaurant, which went dark in 2025. Creative Loafing Tampa and other regional outlets chronicled that exit and reported that franchisees have been cutting loose underperforming locations in recent years.
At the time of this reporting, the Rock & Brews website was still listing a St. Louis page, though online directories often lag behind what is actually happening on the ground. For now, the auction timeline noted in local business coverage remains the clearest sign of what comes next for the now-silent Chesterfield space.
