A late-morning holdup at a North City Dollar General has St. Louis police asking the public for help tracking down three suspects seen on store surveillance cameras. Investigators say the robbery happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Dollar General in the 4000 block of N. Grand. As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been announced.
According to First Alert 4, a preliminary investigation indicates two women went into the store and loaded a plastic container with several items while a man waited outside. The man then grabbed the container and walked out. When an employee confronted him, police say he pulled a knife and threatened the worker before all three took off in a red car.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them and are reminding residents that tips can be submitted anonymously to St. Louis Regional Crime Stoppers at 866‑371‑TIPS (8477) or through the organization’s website. CrimeStoppers notes that only tips that lead to a felony arrest are eligible for rewards.
Police Released Surveillance Images
Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspects as part of their appeal for witnesses, according to First Alert 4. Anyone who recognizes the individuals or the red vehicle is asked to call a 4th District detective at 314‑444‑2500.
Police say the investigation is active and that detectives are following leads. Residents who may have relevant video or information are urged to contact CrimeStoppers or the 4th District detective, and to call 911 if they see suspected criminal activity in progress.
