The weather pattern changes Saturday, August 1, as moisture moves back into East Tennessee. A few showers could arrive between 8 and 11 a.m., followed by a better chance of showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon; the chance of rain is about 60%, with a high near 86 degrees.
Saturday night looks wetter, with showers and thunderstorms likely, an 80% chance of precipitation and a low around 71 degrees. Sunday, August 2, also brings an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 85 degrees.
Strong Storms And Localized Flooding Possible
Forecasters say a few stronger storms could develop this weekend, although the exact timing and severity remain uncertain. Downpours that linger over the same area could also cause localized flooding, so outdoor plans may need some flexibility from Saturday afternoon through Sunday night.
