San José police detained a 22-year-old man after an adult woman was found dead inside a home on the 2100 block of Lanai Avenue, in what officials say is the city’s 15th homicide of the year. Officers responded to the residence last Wednesday, found the woman unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
What the police said
According to a press release from San José Police Media Relations, officers detained 22-year-old Marco Jimenez at the home. He was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on murder allegations. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death a homicide on July 16, and police assigned the case number 26-196-0033, according to the release.
