A late-night outing at Atlantic Station turned violent early Saturday when a fight inside a business spilled outside and a man was shot, according to Atlanta police. The victim, described as a 28-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital and is receiving treatment. The shooting unfolded in the popular mixed-use shopping and entertainment district that typically draws big weekend crowds well past midnight.
What Police Say
Officers were called to 261 19th St. NW, the address of Regal Atlantic Station, at about 2:20 a.m., Atlanta News First reported. Police told the outlet that a group inside an establishment got into a fight and was escorted outside, where shots were fired. According to the station, a 28-year-old man was hit and taken to the hospital. Authorities had not identified any suspects in the initial report.
Recent Incidents At Atlantic Station
The shooting is the latest in a series of violent incidents at the complex. On March 30, a shooting at apartments in Atlantic Station left one person dead and two others injured, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Earlier in March, police investigated a case in which a gunman opened fire on a group leaving Atlantic Station; no one was hurt in that incident, WSB-TV reported.
Security Concerns Persist
Those episodes have added to longstanding safety worries for visitors and merchants. In 2022, a bystander standing in front of the Regal theater was struck by a stray bullet, as FOX 5 Atlanta noted. More recently, Hoodline highlighted a December 2025 disturbance in which five juveniles were detained after fireworks and reported gunfire at the property.
The investigation into Saturday’s shooting is ongoing, and no suspects had been identified in the initial report, according to Atlanta News First. Police officials have not released additional details as investigators continue processing the scene and tracking down leads.
