A woman was killed last night after she was shot outside a home in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of southeast Dallas. Police say officers were called to a house near the intersection of Lake June Road and North Prairie Creek Road around 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the woman in front of the home with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
According to FOX 4, investigators have not yet identified a suspect or determined a motive. Detectives are canvassing the area for security camera footage and speaking with neighbors in search of tips as the investigation continues.
Recent violence in Pleasant Grove
The killing comes on the heels of other violent incidents in the neighborhood this month. A recent daylight shooting on Bruton Road left a teenager dead, as reported by Hoodline. The recent shootings have put a fresh spotlight on ongoing safety concerns in southeast Dallas and highlight the challenges investigators face in piecing these cases together.
