Southaven is getting a new sweet stop, and this one is built around small treats with big visual appeal. Loves Dessert Bar plans to bring its decorated mini cheesecakes and other desserts to town later this summer.
The Memphis-area bakery is targeting an opening between mid-August and early September, according to What Now Memphis. Owner Shonsanta Love plans to open in the former Brown Baguette Bakery Cafe storefront, after saying the Southaven opportunity came to her even though she was not actively searching for another location.
Loves already operates in Cordova, and the Better Business Bureau identifies Love as the company’s owner. The business is listed as a dessert and bakery operation offering cheesecakes, cookies, and other sweet treats, along with custom orders and catering.
Grab-And-Go Desserts First, Seating Later
The Southaven location will initially focus on grab-and-go service rather than sit-down dining. Love told What Now Memphis that custom ordering and catering will continue, while future seating remains a possibility if the storefront grows into something larger.
That format could make the shop a handy stop for celebration boxes, office treats or a quick cheesecake fix without committing to a full restaurant visit. Loves’ stated focus is consistency and presentation, with Love emphasizing that customers should get the same quality every time they order.
Loves Joins Southaven’s Growing Dessert Scene
The new shop will enter a Southaven market that already has several dessert-focused businesses. The Silo Square business directory lists City Hall Cheesecake and Vampire Penguin, while the Mississippi State Department of Health lists Dvour Desserts among Southaven’s food establishments.
For now, the key date is still a window rather than a grand-opening announcement: mid-August through early September. If construction and preparations stay on schedule, Southaven residents will soon have another locally owned option for bite-sized sweets and custom dessert orders.
