Police Find Gunshot Damage At Truman And Cleveland
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at Truman Road and Cleveland Avenue, where they found a stopped vehicle showing gunshot damage, according to KMBC's report. Inside, police discovered an unresponsive man who had been shot, and EMS crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were working to collect evidence and determine what led to the shooting. Kansas City's police department says its homicide unit handles death investigations and asks witnesses with information to contact detectives at 816-234-5043 or submit anonymous tips through its homicide information page. According to the Kansas City Missouri Police Department's 2010 Annual Report, the department oversees the Kansas City Regional Crime Laboratory and includes an Investigations Bureau with a Violent Crimes Division and Homicide Unit.
Victim Identification And Motive Were Not Immediately Released
Jackson County's development plan says the future land use map 'identifies many areas that should be redeveloped for mixed use, including: • Downtown Kansas City • Along Truman Road in Kansas City'.
The initial police information did not identify the victim or disclose a possible suspect, motive or arrest. KMBC reported that investigators remained at the scene as they worked to piece together what happened.
