A McMinnville man was arrested Tuesday after investigators accused him of sexually abusing a child over several years in Lafayette, and authorities now fear there may be more victims. The alleged abuse reportedly occurred between 2014 and 2019, but the public warning is only now emerging after the arrest.
Luis Miguel Straub was arrested in McMinnville on complaints of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse, according to KATU. Investigators said Straub had frequent contact with the minor involved in the case, though authorities have not publicly identified the child or released additional details about the alleged conduct.
Investigators Are Reviewing Straub’s Contact With Children
During the investigation, authorities learned Straub had been involved with a Hillsboro youth soccer league and had worked for a business providing direct support to people with disabilities. Investigators have not said whether those roles are connected to any additional allegations, but they are part of the reason officials believe other victims may exist.

Charges Carry Serious Felony Classifications
Under Oregon’s criminal code, first-degree sodomy is a Class A felony, while first-degree sexual abuse is a Class B felony. The accusations remain unproven in court, and an arrest or criminal complaint is not a finding of guilt.
