An 18-year-old man died after a three-vehicle crash Monday on State Route 131 near Dry Run Road in Miami Township, a collision that shut down the roadway as troopers and emergency crews worked the scene and launched an investigation. The young driver was flown to a Cincinnati hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.
What Happened
According to WCPO, the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. on July 6. Troopers told the outlet that 18-year-old Wyatt Fisher was driving eastbound on State Route 131 when he first struck one vehicle, then crossed left of center and collided with a second vehicle.
Investigation and Injuries
WCPO reports that Fisher was taken by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. "The crash remains under investigation," the Batavia Post said, as reported by WCPO.
Air Transport and Hospital
Officials say Fisher was flown by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, a major emergency care hub in the region. Metro Aviation notes that Air Care operates for UC Health, and UC Health lists UC Medical Center as its flagship Level I adult trauma hospital.
Troopers with the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continue to investigate the crash, and officials have not released additional details.
