The fast-moving line of storms brought gusty winds, pockets of small hail and thick blowing dust that cut visibility and turned the evening commute into a slow crawl across the Valley.
According to ABC15 Arizona, most of the outages hit Salt River Project customers, with the biggest trouble spots in far East Mesa, around Papago Park and just south of downtown Phoenix. ABC15 also noted a National Weather Service special weather statement that covered Phoenix, Glendale and Peoria as the storms marched west across the metro.
