A Monday night shooting near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road in central Las Vegas left one person hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said. Officers arriving in the area found a victim lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds and had the person taken to a nearby hospital.
According to KLAS, the shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of Sherwood Street, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police began searching the area for suspects. Detectives also started canvassing nearby homes for witnesses, with early information indicating the victim's injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.

Detectives typically follow up with neighborhood canvasses and encourage anyone with information or footage to share it through official channels to help piece together what happened.
Area Has Seen Recurring Violence
Local coverage and past department reports indicate the central Sahara-Paradise corridor has seen periodic gun violence, from apartment complex shootings to incidents in the street. Archival reporting by FOX5 has documented similar shootings in the same general part of town.
