Nearly a year after a late-night hit-and-run on North Grand Boulevard, a St. Louis man is now facing felony charges in the death of 20-year-old Tori Dunn.
Banditoe C. Farmer Jr., 38, has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with physical evidence and is being held without bond. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office filed the charges this week, nearly 11 months after the Aug. 16, 2025, crash, according to FOX 2. Court documents reviewed by the outlet list Farmer’s initial appearance for July 31, 2026, with another hearing set for Aug. 21, 2026.
What Prosecutors Say Happened
Prosecutors allege Farmer struck Dunn as she crossed the 2500 block of North Grand Boulevard just after 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 16, 2025, then left the scene, according to KMOV. Investigators say the vehicle tied to the crash was later found unoccupied in the 3700 block of North Grand and abandoned at an Eagle Express gas station.

Surveillance photos released by police show a man abandoning a vehicle and running from the scene, KMOV reported. At the time, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department warned the public not to approach the individual, calling him "armed and dangerous," and asked anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
Legal Stakes
Under Missouri law, leaving the scene of an accident that results in death is classified as a class D felony when a death has occurred, according to the Missouri Revisor of Statutes. Tampering with physical evidence can be charged as a more serious offense if prosecutors allege the conduct impaired or obstructed an investigation, per state code.
Farmer is due back in court on July 31, 2026, with a subsequent hearing set for Aug. 21, 2026, according to court records reported by FOX 2. The filings say he will remain held without bond while prosecutors continue their investigation.
