A man was shot Monday night outside a home in north Minneapolis after what police say was an ambush by two suspects on the 1200 block of Oliver Avenue North. The victim managed to run back inside the house before 911 was called. Officers provided medical aid at the scene and then took him to North Memorial Health with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. Police were not able to track down the suspects, and no arrests had been announced as of Monday night.
According to KSTP, Minneapolis police have launched an investigation into the shooting, looking into the circumstances around the ambush and any suspect descriptions. Officers searched the block after the gunfire, and the case remains very much open.
Recent violence on the north side
The shooting adds to a tense stretch of violence on the north side this month. Hoodline previously reported on a daytime living-room shooting on the 1200 block of 36th Avenue North that left a man critically injured. Earlier in June, officers themselves came under fire while investigating near 35th and Oliver, according to FOX 9.

The City of Minneapolis lists an MPD tip email ([email protected]) and voicemail line (612-673-5845), along with an option to remain anonymous through CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, according to the city's public bulletins. Investigators are especially interested in any video footage or eyewitness accounts from the area.
