Northlake is about to get a sports bar where the rink, court and patio are basically part of the same game-day circuit. Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill is set to open next Friday inside Children’s Health StarCenter Multisport Northlake, bringing a Canadian sports-bar brand with Dallas Stars ties into a sprawling family sports destination.
The Northlake location will be Shark Club’s second U.S. outpost after its Plano debut, according to WhatNow Dallas. The roughly 5,000-square-foot restaurant is designed around stadium-style viewing, everyday gatherings and the steady stream of athletes and families expected at the complex.
A Sports Bar Built Into Northlake’s Massive Athletic Complex
The restaurant is attached to the 225,000-square-foot Children’s Health StarCenter Multisport Northlake, which includes two NHL-regulation ice sheets, eight basketball courts convertible to 16 volleyball courts and eight pickleball courts. The facility’s official site describes it as the 11th Children’s Health StarCenter in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and highlights programming ranging from youth hockey to adult leagues.
Inside Shark Club, the television situation will be difficult to miss: WhatNow reports that the venue will have 37 screens, plus an outdoor patio overlooking the pickleball courts. The menu is expected to cover shareable appetizers, burgers, handhelds, entrees and drinks, with local specials, late-night food and weekday happy-hour windows from 3 to 7 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. until close.
The Dallas Stars Connection Runs Through The Brand
Shark Club is not a random sports-bar import that wandered into North Texas looking for a few televisions. According to the brand’s official history, it began in Vancouver in 1993 before expanding alongside the Sandman hotel business and eventually moving under the Gaglardi family’s ownership.
Northland Properties, the company behind Shark Club, also lists the Dallas Stars among its portfolio of hospitality, sports and entertainment brands. Dallas Stars owner and Northland CEO Tom Gaglardi said the goal is to give families, teams and fans a place to connect and build traditions, a fairly ambitious mission for a room full of wings and big screens—but one that fits the venue’s built-in audience.
Ribbon Cutting Set For Next Friday
The Metroport Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a ribbon-cutting celebration for next Friday at the new Northlake restaurant, with the ceremony beginning at 4 p.m. The chamber says the event is open to the business community, with city officials and local leaders expected to attend.
For Northlake residents, the opening adds a full-service restaurant to a sports complex that is already functioning as a regional destination for hockey, basketball, volleyball and pickleball. The Shark Club’s combination of game-day screens, patio seating and late-night service should give families one more reason to stick around after the final whistle—or after someone’s pickleball partner finally stops keeping score.
