Brighton Crossings is getting another builder, and Oakwood Homes is coming in with 63 lots plus a new single-story ranch design aimed at buyers who want fewer stairs.
According to the Denver Business Journal, Oakwood plans to develop the lots in the master-planned Brighton community and use the project to debut its new ranch-style plan. The builder also intends to roll that design into additional communities, making Brighton the first stop for a broader product rollout.
Oakwood Already Has A Brighton Crossings Footprint
Oakwood’s current Brighton Crossings offering is marketed as the Brio Collection, with the company listing a sales center at 4690 Hauler Lane. The builder describes the existing collection as two-story single-family homes with as many as five bedrooms, meaning the incoming ranch plan could give the company a different pitch for buyers seeking one-level living, according to Oakwood Homes.
The community is already crowded with new-home options from several builders, but it is also built around the kind of amenities developers use to make large subdivisions feel less like subdivisions. The official Brighton Crossings listings show Oakwood alongside Brookfield Residential, Century Communities, D.R. Horton, KB Home and Richmond American.
Brighton Keeps Adding Homes As Population Climbs
The 63-lot announcement arrives as Brighton continues to grow. The city’s population report estimates 49,801 residents in 2026, up from 48,368 at the end of 2025, while the city recorded 484 additional residential units in its 2026 estimate, according to the City of Brighton.
That growth is putting pressure on the city to add housing at multiple price points. Brighton’s housing needs assessment says the city will need about 3,100 homes affordable to a range of incomes by 2033, including 1,450 homes affordable to households earning up to 80% of the area median income, the city says on its housing needs page.
A Community Designed To Sell More Than Square Footage
Brighton Crossings’ appeal is less about a lone subdivision entrance and more about the amenity package wrapped around its homes. The community advertises more than nine parks, two pools, fitness centers, connected trails, a dog park, retail and the Venture Center & Water Park, according to the community’s amenities guide.
Oakwood describes itself as Colorado’s largest privately held homebuilder and community developer, with more than two decades of work in the state. Its Brighton expansion gives the company another foothold along the growing northern edge of the Denver metro area while giving Brighton Crossings one more set of floor plans to put in front of buyers.
