Late on Friday night in Orange City, a domestic drama turned violent when police say a man opened fire on the current boyfriend of his children’s mother at a local apartment complex.
The shooting unfolded around 11:15 p.m. at the Reserve at Orange City, where officers arrived to find the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is listed in stable condition while investigators work to sort out exactly what sparked the confrontation.
According to FOX 35 Orlando, the suspected shooter has been identified as 27-year-old Malik Brown. Police say Brown fired several rounds from inside a vehicle, hitting the victim multiple times before officers arrived, locked down the scene and took him into custody. Brown now faces charges of attempted second-degree murder and child neglect. The case remains under active investigation.
Another Shooting Shakes Orange City
This is not the first time this month Orange City residents have heard gunfire tied to a dispute.
