A quiet Phoenix apartment complex has suddenly turned into the scene of a deeply unsettling investigation, after officers discovered two decomposed bodies inside a single unit over the weekend. Detectives are now working to piece together how the deaths unfolded and how long the victims may have been inside.
What Officers Found Inside the Unit
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, officers were called around 2:30 p.m. on July 25 to an apartment complex near 27th Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue, after someone reported they had not heard from a family member in days. Police said they saw what appeared to be a body through a window before going inside and finding a second body. Sgt. Chris Berrelleza said the remains were in such a “state of decomposition” that homicide detectives took over the case.
The victims have not been identified, investigators have not said how either person died, and police are asking anyone with information to call 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO. The discovery comes on the heels of another recent apartment death case in Phoenix: KTAR News reported July 1 that a man and his estranged wife were found dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a north Phoenix apartment complex.
