After more than three decades on Woodford Road, LaRosa's is closing its longtime Pleasant Ridge pizzeria and shifting operations to nearby Kennedy Heights later this year. The new shop will sit about a mile away and is being built out with a fresh layout and upgraded pickup options.
Work is already underway at 3140 Highland Ave., where LaRosa's says the new pizzeria is slated to open this fall. The redesigned restaurant will feature a drive-up pickup window and kiosk ordering for dine-in guests while keeping the same delivery territory as the Pleasant Ridge store. All current employees have been offered positions at the new location, and the company expects to bring on about 10 to 15 additional team members. Diners can keep grabbing their go-to orders at the Woodford Road spot until the Highland Avenue restaurant opens, according to WKRC Local 12.
In a company release, CEO Mike LaRosa said, "We're incredibly grateful for the support of the Pleasant Ridge and Kennedy Heights communities," and offered thanks to generations of families who have made the chain's recipes part of their own traditions, a statement reported by WKRC Local 12.
LaRosa's And The Local Footprint
LaRosa's got its start in Cincinnati in 1954 and has grown to roughly 60 pizzerias across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, per Wikipedia. The chain has been rolling out updated formats this year, including a LaRosa's Taphouse that opened in March in partnership with Big Ash Brewery, a move local business coverage has framed as part of a broader effort to refresh select locations and menu offerings.
What Neighbors Should Expect
LaRosa's says delivery boundaries will remain the same, so regulars should not see much disruption while the Highland Avenue buildout wraps up. The relocation keeps current staff in place, with a small boost in hiring planned as the company ramps up for the fall opening.
