Officers found the victim unresponsive behind a business late last month, and he later died at a hospital. According to 11Alive, Atlanta police said the arrest followed an altercation between the suspect and the victim before the assault. Jail records cited by the station show the suspect was booked on an aggravated assault charge and is being held on a $75,000 bond. A news release from the Atlanta Police Department lists a homicide investigation tied to Ponce De Leon Avenue, includes a case number and surveillance video, and notes that the medical examiner is reviewing the case. In a June 29, 2026 posting, APD said officers originally responded to a reported incident on June 24, 2026 at 737 Ponce De Leon Ave NE and that the Homicide Unit and the Fulton County Medical Examiner were involved.
